Privacy
This policy covers two separate things: the bleedor desktop
browser, and the bleedor.com search page. They have
different data footprints, so they're described separately.
The bleedor browser
The browser is a locally-installed desktop application. It does not phone home.
- No telemetry. We do not collect analytics, usage stats, feature-flag pings, or crash reports.
- No account. There is no sign-up, no login, no user ID.
- Cookies and logins stay on your machine. Browsing data is stored by the Microsoft Edge WebView2 runtime in a profile under
~/.browser/webview2/. It is never uploaded anywhere by us. - Settings and permissions stay local. Your preferences (
~/.browser/settings.json) and per-site permission choices (~/.browser/permissions.json) live on your machine only. - Downloads stay local. Files download to your
~/Downloadsfolder. - Logs stay local. A warning-level log at
~/.browser/browser.logrecords errors for troubleshooting. It is not transmitted.
Individual websites you visit may still collect their own data under their own privacy policies. That's unchanged from any browser.
The bleedor.com search page
When you search from the browser's address bar or open a new tab,
the browser navigates to bleedor.com with your query
in the URL. The page returns search results fetched from our
search partner.
- Search backend. Results are provided by Microsoft Bing via a Bing partner program. Your query is sent to the partner to fetch results. The partner's privacy practices apply to that request.
- Ads. The results page may display ads served by the search partner. Clicking an ad sends you to the advertiser via the partner's click tracker. That tracker is the partner's, not ours.
- What we measure. Aggregate traffic (total searches per day, total unique referrers) for capacity planning and partner reconciliation. We do not maintain per-user search histories.
- What we don't do. We do not set tracking cookies of our own on
bleedor.com, we do not run third-party analytics pixels, and we do not link queries to individuals.
What we never do
- Sell user data to anyone.
- Inject our own ads into pages you visit.
- Rewrite outgoing links to add affiliate parameters.
- Show you ads outside the
bleedor.comresults page.
Third parties
The only third parties in the data flow are:
- Microsoft Edge WebView2 — renders web pages inside the browser. It reaches Microsoft for routine runtime maintenance (updates, certificate revocation) as any Edge install does. See Microsoft's privacy statement for details.
- Our search partner (Microsoft Bing via a Bing partner program) — receives your query when you search, so it can return results. See the partner's privacy terms for their handling.
- Our static host —
bleedor.comis served from a commodity static-hosting provider that sees standard request metadata (IP, user agent, referrer) as any website does. No additional tracking is attached by us.
